New York Mets closing pitcher Edwin Diaz chose “Narco” as his walk-up song for the season. Two members of Blasterjaxx that helped co-write the song “endorsed Diaz as the official user,” according to SNY TV.

They don’t think anyone else should use the song, but Timmy Trumpet, who also wrote it, shared that it’s an honor when anyone uses their music.

Diaz is unstoppable this season, so he makes the use of “Narco” even more iconic for the writers.

Mets closing pitcher Edwin Diaz is having an incredible season

Diaz is having one of the best seasons of his career and could be setting himself up for a massive paycheck entering free agency next season. He’s become one of the best closers in the league this season with an ERA of 1.52, batting average against of .168 and WHIP of 0.90.

He produced slightly better results in 2018 with the Seattle Mariners. That season, he had an ERA of 1.96, BAA of .160 and WHIP of 0.79. He was then traded to the Mets and struggled slightly during his first two seasons before finding his potential again.

He stands out on a team with some of the best pitching stats in the league. Among all teams, the Mets have the sixth-best ERA (3.51), ninth-best opponent batting average (.234) and sixth-best WHIP (1.19).

New York also sits at the top of the NL East standings with a winning percentage of .636. He’s undoubtedly an asset in the league.
