San Diego Padres slugger Fernando Tatis Jr. is currently facing a lot of controversy, and his teammates are starting to suggest disapproval of his actions.
San Diego Padres slugger Fernando Tatis Jr. has been out all season with a wrist fracture. Right when he was about to make his season debut, he got a suspension lasting the rest of 2022 for using PEDs. All-Star teammate Joe Musgrove suggests the franchise may be frustrated with Tatis.
According to Alden González of ESPN, Musgrove said of Tatis, “A lot of things between now and then will dictate that. He’s our teammate still, and he’s gonna be in our clubhouse, so we’re gonna have to find a way to get on the same page and get past this.”
According to Robert Murray of FanSided, Tatis met with Padres president of baseball operations A.J. Preller.
Tatis is expected to address his teammates on the matter.
Fernando Tatis Jr. expected to address his Padres teammates on suspension
Tatis got himself into a tricky situation. He’s expected to address his teammates this week regarding the suspension. His trust will undoubtedly be difficult to earn back, but not impossible.
Teammate Wil Myers reportedly told Joe Morgan of Fox News, “We just wanna hear him be genuine and honest in here. What happens in here stays in here. As far as the trust being broken – I think that’s obviously true in the respect of what happened, but that’s not to say that from a teammate perspective that can’t be won back.”
Another teammate, Jurickson Profar, was far more supportive of Tatis, saying that he’s spoken with him every day, describing the suspended star as “broken” and saying that he had Tatis’ back.
Tatis has been the slugger of the team for the past few years, so the news of his suspension hit many people hard.
