Garrett Stubbs was the hero for the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday and the broadcast team provided an unbelievably great call for the moment.

Despite a gem that was marred solely by a Miguel Rojas home run from Phillies pitcher Kyle Gibson, Philadelphia entered the bottom of the ninth inning on Wednesday afternoon trailing 1-0. Their bats weren’t offering up the support that they should’ve and they were in real danger of losing.

Then they started threatening. With one out, Alec Bohm singled to get it started. Then, JT Realmuto pinch hit and drew a walk to put the winning run on base. But after a Yairo Muñoz strikeout, it was up to Garrett Stubbs to get something done.

After four pitches, Stubbs was down to his final strike in a 2-2 count. That’s when Tanner Scott finally made a mistake, though, and the Phillies catcher made him pay with a huge shot to right field that cleared the fence for a walk-off home run, giving Philadelphia the 3-1 win.

Phillies broadcast captures adrenaline of Garrett Stubbs walk-off home run

The moment itself was electric, but it was even better with the Phillies broadcast providing an instant classic of a call on the walk-off dinger.

The “Did he do it?! Did he do it?! He did!” will give anyone, Phils fans or not, absolute chills.

Walk-off home runs in their nature have the ability to produce goosebumps. However, great baseball moments are always made even better with a great call to accompany them. That was certainly the case in this instance.
