The Houston Astros haven’t lost on Opening Day in a decade

Opening Day for MLB marked the start of a new journey for many teams, and the Houston Astros are starting theirs strong.

Opening Day was a big moment for many teams in baseball and many memorable events happened over the day. Houston have officially added to a winning-streak of a decade. The Astros produced a 3-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels.

Houston currently holds the record for most consecutive Opening Day wins. They played a tough and close game against the Angels, but they seem to be determined to do what it takes to continue their streak. Houston were held at 1-0 through most of the game, but they came into the eighth-inning strong and produced two home runs.

Astros add to Opening Day winning streak

The home runs produced were even more meaningful to the team because they were off of Ryan Tepera, who talked about the Astros doing “some sketchy stuff” just six months earlier. Yet, Houston was far from the only team in the wrong.

Alex Bregman was one of the players who hit a home run, and he was asked if it being off Tepera’s pitch held any significance.

Bregman humbly stated that hitting a homer off Tepera didn’t mean anything, but he was happy to hit a homer in general.

The season started off strong for Houston with another Opening Day win and their first victory of the season.
