The Atlanta Braves have unfortunately seen the younger brother of star right fielder Ronald Acuña sign elsewhere.

There’s some serious, serious talent in Ronald Acuña’s family. The superstar right fielder isn’t the only star player in his household, as the Braves stud has a 16-year-old brother named Bryan Acuña who also had loads of potential.

Well, the younger Acuña is considered a top international prospect and he’s hoping to join his big brother in the majors at some point down the road. Those dreams reached a new level over the weekend, as Bryan Acuña has reportedly signed a new deal with the Minnesota Twins.

Bryan Acuña signing with the Twins will bum Braves fans out

Bryan Acuña checks in as the No. 39 international prospect out there via MLB.com. According to the StarTribune, Minnesota signed the teenage shortstop to a deal worth $650,000. While Bryan Acuña currently checks in at 5-11, 155 pounds, don’t forget that he’s just 16 years old and he’s got plenty of growing left to do.

Minnesota is high on his potential, which is why they didn’t waste any time here and got the deal done on the first day international prospects could sign. Meanwhile for the elder Acuña, the Braves slugger continues to rehab after suffering his torn ACL last campaign.

It was heartbreaking to see for the Atlanta faithful, but Ronald Acuña never stopped supporting his teammates. In the end, Atlanta ended up winning the World Series and few people were more jacked up about things than the outfielder.

Now, Ronald Acuña is working overtime to make sure he can be ready for the start of the 2022 campaign. As for Bryan Acuña, he’ll now hope to keep making a name for himself and work his way up the Minnesota farm system.
