Joc Pederson made Craig Counsell’s decision to pull Freddy Peralta early a complete disaster.
In a scoreless ball game in Atlanta, Counsell decided to take Peralta out of the game after only four innings. He had only thrown 57 pitches, but the Brewers were in dire need of a run. So he had Daniel Vogelbach pinch hit for Peralta. Braves starter Ian Anderson got out of the big jam in the top of the fifth inning. Pederson would pinch hit for Anderson in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Three runs later, Pederson completely set the entire Battery on fire as a bad b***h in his pearls.
Brewers: Did Craig Counsell pull Freddy Peralta too early?
Not only did Pederson crush Adrian Houser’s offering deep into The Chophouse, but the Brewers reliever allowed back-to-back base knocks by Travis d’Arnaud and Dansby Swanson before the big fly. Keep in mind that the Brewers’ only two runs in this best-of-five series up to this point was the two-run moonshot off the bat of Rowdy Tellez way back in Game 1. Counsell needs counsel…
This managerial decision by Counsell may have the Brew Crew gearing up towards an early exit.
