ESPN will create an MLB version of the “Manningcast” for Sunday Night Baseball, starring Alex Rodriguez.

In 2021, ESPN had huge success with the “Manningcast” on Monday Night Football, featuring Peyton and Eli Manning watching the game, giving their thoughts and interviewing guests. The network is prepared to create another version of the “Manningcast,” but for Sunday Night Baseball, and it may be a hard sell for some baseball fans.

According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, the alternative broadcast for Sunday Night Baseball will feature Alex Rodriguez and ESPN radio host and YES Network commentator, Michael Kay.

ESPN’s MLB ‘Manningcast’ to feature Alex Rodriguez and Michael Kay

This, as Marchand describes in his article, is the network shaking up the Sunday Night Baseball broadcast. Rodriguez will no longer be in the main commentary booth. Instead, the new team will feature Karl Ravech as the play-by-play commentator, with Eduardo Perez and YES Network’s David Cone being analysts in the booth.

Rodriguez and Kay are expected to broadcast together between 10-12 Sunday Night Baseball games.

Following his retirement after the 2016 season, Rodriguez entered the broadcasting world. He served as an in-studio analyst for FOX Sports and spent the previous four seasons on Sunday Night Baseball. As for Kay, he is the longtime play-by-play commentator for the New York Yankees on the YES Network and the host of “The Michael Kay Show,” on ESPN Radio.

So, what do you think of the reported MLB version of the “Manningcast” with Rodriguez and Kay?
